About Us
Patrick Hinchy has a master's degree from Oxford University, specializes in modern European military history and is multi-lingual. He provides expert research assistance to World War II military authors for whom he has translated many German military documents and also eye-witness accounts such as from Hitler’s personal Waffen-SS adjutant.
Patrick is a professional European Tour Director. For over 35 years, he has created, planned and guided countless customized World War II military pilgrimage tours to Europe for US Veterans accompanied by their wives, families and friends, usually from US Divisional and Legacy Associations.
Patrick has thus been privileged to get to know and frequently organize World War II military pilgrimage tours for many outstanding US soldiers such as Colonel Felix Sparks of 45th Division (later Brigadier General) who captured Dachau Concentration Camp; Major Bill Falvey, 90th Division Intelligence Officer who courageously argued openly in Normandy with VII Corps Commander 'Lightning' Joe Collins; Major Alan Reeves, later SHAEF Veterans Association National Commander who took part in the August 1944 'Anvil/Dragoon' French Riviera landings on a special SHAEF mission to capture the Gestapo HQ in Marseille; and many more such soldiers.
Time marches on and this historically very important generation of US World War II soldiers has inevitably almost completely faded away. But through Patrick's deep involvement and friendship with so many of them over the years, and through having taken them on their military pilgrimages back to where they were in World War II, Patrick is today conscious of being one of very few people able to provide a strong, knowledgeable and genuine living link to them. This is deeply appreciated by the Veterans' families, friends and younger generations, who very much wish to nurture, honor and perpetuate the Veterans' World War II military history, achievements and heritage. This is the purpose of 'WWII MILITARY HISTORY TOURS' and it will be especially important in 2020, the iconic 75th Anniversary of World War II "Victory in Europe" 1945.
